Wedge wire is a welded stainless steel structure primarily used for filtration, separation, and fluid retention. It consists of surface profiles, usually V-shaped, welded to support profiles for strength.
The direction of filtration flow is determined by the position of the surface profiles relative to the support profiles. Wedge wire tubes can have either outside-to-in (FOTI) or inside-to-out (FITO) flow patterns; they can be internally reinforced for higher operating pressures.
